FANS SAY GOODBYE TO BAATIN OF SLUM VILLIAGE

I just got this info and in bits and pieces at that so forgive me if we're still bringing in all the details. What we do know is that Baatin longtime member of Slum Village has recently passed away.

For those who aren't familliar with the group, Slum Village emerged in the late 1990s, the highly regarded Detroit trio of T3, Baatin and Jay Dee aka the late J Dilla.

Baatin had recently rejoined the group after an extended hiatus and the trio, now including member Elzhi was working on a new album as well as putting together plans to pay tribute to their late friend Dilla in a future project. Their first single Cloud 9 was welcomed with open arms and features the vocals of one half of the soulful group Floetry.

Our prayers go out to all of the friends, fans and loved ones of Baatin. We'll keep you up to date as information is revealed.
